Halluks Valgus

Hallux Valgus also known as bunion is a bump that forms on the outside of the big toe. This foot deformity occurs from years of pressure on the big toe joint. Eventually, the toe joint gets out of alignment, and a bony bump forms. Most bunions form in women, primarily because women may be more likely to wear tight, pointed, and confining shoes. Bunions may be inherited as a family trait. Surgery is done to reduce the pain and correct the deformity caused by a bunion.
